CATACOMB's inaugural kit and collaboration with none other than DXTR - the Berlin based artist, illustrator, character designer and muralist. A founding member of the German/Austrian art collective, The Weird, DXTR's iconic pixel art style can be seen worldwide across massive walls, small prints and everything in-between.
DXTR dove deep into the catacombs for this one, summoning up skeletons, bugs, bats and knives to bring the kit to life. The cut takes inspiration from motorcycle club jackets and features a CATACOMB crew patch on the rear and 17 individual artworks.
The colourway is an undying classic black, white and cool grey.

Where are you from?
I‘m living and working in Berlin most of the year, recently moved to Melbourne as well, so kinda chasing the summer (and my girlfriend) with frequent travels.

How did you develop your artistic style?
I started painting graffiti at the age of 16. Had to stop for a minute because of getting in trouble with the authorities and started to study graphic design and illustration at university. So basically my style is a mixture of graffiti and graphic design.

What is your creative process when working on a project?
Research is very important first of all, actually the most important. After that I start with rough sketches and if the idea is good I finalize everything in Adobe Illustrator if the work needs to be done digitally.

What are some of your inspirations?
My work is based on mythology and abstract symbolism so my main inspiration are old stories, myths and legends. Beside that I love old retro designs of matchboxes.

How would you describe your jersey design?
The Anubis design is a dark modern but nostalgic take on Egypt symbolism. The name Catacomb kinda drew me to this direction. Sometimes just one word opens up a whole universe of symbols in my mind.
